In June of this year YWAM Jacksonville moved in the Seawalk Hotel, located across the street from the beach in Jacksonville Beach. It is an amazing facility with rooms for housing, dining, office, recreation, etc. We believe it is now possible for us to offer awesome outreaches for youth groups here in our city. The great thing about this opportunity is that a youth group can come and enjoy the experiences of a summer camp AND mission trip, all in one week. The big difference is that there isn’t the cost of BOTH. The two experiences come for the cost of one - $295 per person. Below are many more details. It doesn’t matter how small or large your group is, as we have worked with groups from 6 to 50. Let me know if you have any questions about what’s below.

W.I.L.D. Week (worship, intercession, lordship, and discovery)
Kicks off on Sunday evening with a meal, worship, and ice-breaker games. Concludes the following Saturday morning.
Mon. thru Fri. morning has interactive teachings from 9:00 to 12:00
Mon – Basics like quiet times, servanthood, evangelism, etc.
Tue – Worship
Wed – Intercession
Thur – Lordship
Fri – Discovery
Each afternoon will be a service project in Jacksonville with a variety of ministries, including refugee children and urban work projects.
Evenings will be fun times at the beach with games, snacks, and devotions.
Cost is $295.00 per person (includes housing at Seawalk Hotel, food, and ministry) but doesn’t include transportation. Local transportation can be provided at an additional cost.
Youth groups can save money by combining their summer camp and mission trip costs into one week. These weeks will include great teachings and ministry opportunity.

Talk is soooooo cheap!
When I get enough money, I’m going to go to blah, blah, blah. When I get done with college, I’m going to go to blah, blah, blah. When I find my future wife/husband, I’m going to go to blah, blah, blah. When we get to heaven, we can say, “Hey Lord, look at my bank account or, look at my diploma or, look at my wedding ring.”

Where are all the missionaries?

It’s a problem of focus. “The man who chases 2 rabbits catches none.” Jesus didn’t just tell us to go, but He said to go and DO some specific things. Where are all the missionaries?
Relationship issues (ie. fighting) among missionaries is another key reason for the decline in the missionary force from the U.S. How can we overcome this problem? The primary way, I believe, is through solid discipleship and training of those we send. We need to learn and apply principles like dying to self, preferring your brother, and not taking up offenses.
